The Good of 'The Wire'

Detective Lester Freeman (played by Clarke Peters)
Doing desk work until his calling with the wire tap comes along. he will play dirty but only to get the bad guys in prison.



Colonel Cedric Daniels (played by Lance Reddick)
Politically ambitious, but not so much as to ever steer his staff in the wrong direction. Police work is his first and foremost.



Detective Shakima "Kima" Greggs (played by Sonja Sohn)
An honest cop, and sexy lesbian all in one. She gets lead astray but rediscoveres her honesty and what is really important to her.




Sergeant Ellis Carver (played by Seth Gilliam)
After learning lessons about corruption and ethics he became an honest and effective police officer, and tried with all his might to do the right thing.



Dennis "Cutty" Wise (played by Chad L. Coleman)
Out on parole and trying to make a clean break. You see his struggle at making a life for himself and you see his kindness.



Proposition Joe Stewart (payed by Robert F. Chew)
Me may have been a drug king pin, but the man would always favour a peace settlement over violence (and profit above all).



Bubbles (played by Andre Royo).
Living on the street and addicted to heroin Bubbles takes in the lost sould of the city and helps out the police as much as he can.



Omar Little (played by Michael Kenneth Williams)
Armed with a shot gun, long trench coat, and his boyfriend, Omar robs the drug dealers - Batman style. The coolest and most emotional member of the street.



Butchie (played by S. Robert Morgan).
The blind barkeep and sometime drug dealer who stays out of sight and mind of Baltimore's major players. The man has a heart of gold.



City Editor Augustus "Gus" Haynes (played by Clark Johnson).
A news paper editor who is dedicated to getting things right. He also has an eye for a story and for a bull shit artist.



Norman Wilson (played by Reg E. Cathey).
Advisor to the mayor, a very vocal one at that. This previous reporter he knows his stuff and advises from the heart.



Frank Sobotka (played by Chris Bauer)
He is basically a good man having to do questionable things for his workers. His heart is always with his people and his family.



Roland "Prez" Pryzbylewski (played by Jim True-Frost).
He was a frightened cop with terrible street instincts, but he found a niche working on the wire tap until he realizes his heroic true calling.



Assistant Principle Marcia Connelly (played by Tootsie Duvall).
Her hands are full doing what she can to keep the school running and in good order. You know she is based on so many people which is why she feels so real.


Duquan "Dukie" Weems (played by Jermaine Crawford).
One of the saddest stories in the show. The bright young boy living in hell who is still clinging on to his childhood friends as it is all he has.


Howard "Bunny" Colvin (played by Robert Wisdom).
The most forward thinking man on the show. Tackles both the drug problem and the problem in the schools with great results, only to be blind sided by the powers that be.
