Nicole Kidman looked a vision.

Also great was the wonderful colour on display (click to embiggen)

(l to r) Mariska Hargitay, Carey Mulligan (made her ass look huge though), Diane Kruger (looking amazing), 'GLEE's Leah Michelle (also looking amazing), the adorable Drew Barrymoore and Anne Kendrick.

Oscar Fashions.

I like what I like. Simple as that.

Sure there was not a lot of colour on the red carpet on Sunday but perhaps that was a good thing (I mean poor Natalie Portman and her rather odd orange skin with a bright pink dress on a red carpet. She was a walking head ache with far too much make up - far too pretty a girl to be wearing so much make up) considering that when people do try it, they usually fail.

Here is my selection of the worst dressed. click to embiggen

Why is Heidi Klum (left) even there? Not only does her dress look like origami done by someone with no limbs, but her make up, hair and jewelry just scream 80's German lipstick lesbian.
And what the hell happened to Reese Witherspoon. That dress is like the brighter, uglier step-sister to Kate Winslet's dress.

Beyonce - When I was little me and a friend used to make dresses for Barbie (I know GAY) out of carpet samples. If only I had had a gold pen.
Who is this next woman? Jennifer Biel or some nonsense apparently. Looks like one of her implants has deflated then given birth to a saggier implant.

Now onto Best Dressed: (click to embiggen)

Halle Berry simply looked stunning. I mean she is impossibly beautiful anyway, but that black and gold dress (take note Beyonce) was stunning on her.
Some people thought Penelope Cruz looked too bridal. Whatever! She look absolutely stunning. How many more times will I use the word stunning you ask? Many, many more times. (tis late, am tired)

Wow did Taraji P Henson pull out all the stops. The dress looked like a opening flower and her necklace was just amazing. Stunning woman.
and my dear Meryl. She usually gets it wrong, but this was a classy ensemble. Everything was age appropriate.

I really do love Jennifer Aniston. She just looks like she would be a lot of fun. She leaves her usual black dress at home and goes for gold and cream and look divine.
My friend Jonathan said Marisa Tomei's dress looked like napkins. I thought it was stunning and different and she work the sh*t out of it.

My friend Dean thought Anne Hathaway was wearing a shovel. I thought the dress was stunning. The scales, the diamonds, the fact that she looks just so old style Hollywood. Stunning.
Viola Davis has worked the red carpets like a pro. She looks amazing every time we see her, and although gold was a brave choice for the Oscars, she pulled it off. Stunning.

This was brought to you by the word 'stunning' and the number 3.

Someone really needs to have words with Justin Timberlake.

He just cannot go around ripping the tops off of women during public events.

I mean seriously. I am in the UK and did not get to see the Golden Globes. I was ok with that until I saw this picture. Now I am on the floor screaming.
How could I miss this!!!???
There is nothing I would have liked more that to witness the public nervous breakdown of lemon face. I mean the woman is clearly crazy.

To steal a quote from those brilliant Fug Girls:
"She looks like Crazy Aunt Ne-Ne, who's been let out of her attic for the first time since TV was black-and-white, crawled down a gin bottle, tasered her minders, and is now trying to hail a cab to the nearest military base to show our boys some real gratitude."

'Coco Avant Chanel'

So I was reading months and months ago about the Coco Chanel movie staring Audrey Tautou as the famous influential designer (her suits never go out of style).
Now it seems that Warners have sweeped in, in a vintage classic gown, to finance and co-produce the film.

The film will be looking at Coco's early life (what a great name), hence the title (translation for those of you who slept in French class 'Coco Avant Chanel' translates as 'Coco Before Chanel')

Did you know that sunbathing was never popular in Europe until Coco came back from holiday with a golden tan? Fashion and skin cancer....her legacy it so vast!

Well apparently the film will begin filming in just two weeks and be released next year. I hope to Madonna that Warner does not insist the film be filmed in English just to widen the audience. It could happen, but then again foreign films are not suffering as much at the box office as they used to. A foreign language film reaching £10 million is more common place than it was 10 years ago.

So far, in the production pics that have been leaked, Tautou looks a fierce tranny hot mess.

Oscar Fashions

The Best

Anne Hathaway went risky and it paid off greatly. The rose detail, the draping and the colour all looked amazing!

Marion Cotillard also did not play it safe. A lot of negative things were said about her choice of dress, and I was taken aback at first, but after I got used to the colour, shape and pattern, and saw it in full, it was captivating!

Jennifer Garner not only look healthy, but her hair, and make up were perfect. Although I was disappointed she went with black, I loved the detail as you went down.

Saiorse Ronan went very 1930's and age appropriate with the nights most stand out colour. Nice to see the aqua against the red of the carpet.

The Worst

Cannot remember her name (too lazy to look it up) but she looked like she got some of that Spiderman Venom goo in her nether regions and it has escaped.

My BF was right in saying Jessica Alba looked like the last Quality Street left in the box.

Fugly is the new pretty.

If you haven’t checked them out yet, you so need to.
We all love celebrity fashion mistakes, but these two girls (Jessica and Heather) say what we are not witty enough to even think. I love my daily dose of their scathing critiques and many times laugh out loud at what they write.
They should really be invited to host all red carpet events from now on! Someone hire them!!

This is one of those sites that is really worth delving deep into and checking out the archives. Especially Sharon Stones (pictured) page.

For now check out this hysterical look at the Becks and Posh party hosted by the gay midget and his contractual bride.

The Fashions

The Best Dressed

Penelope Cruz wins the award. Stunning, beautiful, just perfect.
Cate Blanchette looked sexy and cool as ice in a figure hugging charcole dress.
Reese Witherspoon wore a stunning midnight blue dress, it took away from her jaw line – a good thing.
Rachel Weisz was lovely in gold Vera Wang, too bad about the broach and necklace.
Emily Blunt continued the midnight blue look to great effect.
Kate Winslet – She can do no wrong.
Cameron Diaz took a risk and looked fantastic in white.
Rinko Kikuchi looked old school glamour in Chanel.
Helen Mirren was a vision in a sexy gold number.

The Worst Dressed

Oh J-Hud – Darling you look like you should be on Dr. Who……In the 70’s. Oh dear
Eva Green – who ever she thinks she is – Honey needs to go and take a look at Penelope Cruz to see how it is done.
J-Lo – Ancient Greek whore all chained up.
Beyonce – And speaking of which. Can’t she just put it away for once, although this is better than the Golden globes number.
Gwenneth Paltrow looks a little bit like sea food. She came as a giant prawn. Looked like it was made by the guy who did the costumes for Bram Stokers Dracula.
Speaking of Bram Stoker – What was Adrianna Barraza thinking. Looks like a bleeding bin liner!
Poor Dirty Cunts oops, Kirsten Dunst. Looks like she was going to the Oscars on the moon, but forgot her space helmut. Will she ever learn?
