'Veronika Decides to Die' trailer

Looks like it could be interesting, or perhaps it could be just tedious. These tyoe of trailers that aim for art and cerebral usually tend to be neither.
We shall see. Still hoping for post 'Buffy' great things from Gellar.

Empire Linky Link

Empire Magazine has one hot website. Great for all your movie news.

Here are a few interesting tidbits from the past few days.

Another Star Wars movie! Yep, tis true.

"The Others" director makes another movie...this time with Rachel Weisz.

Buffy does serious. I am still waiting for the promise that Actress showed us all on the small screen.
Perhaps this could do it. Kind of slushy sounding, but could also be "My Life Without Me" esque. Fingers crossed.

Superman is back!! The BF goes into bliss induced shock!

How the hell did the "Confessions of a Shop-a-holic" movie get such great cast? Is God herself the casting director?

Ben Affleck may be directing again. "Gone Baby Gone" was a critical success and garnered an Oscar nom (undeserving IMHO) for Amy Ryan. This time he goes the crime route...again. Well if it ain't broke.

And finally they muse of the overly elaborate movie title, and I laugh.

"The Air I Breathe" trailer

I have heard interesting things about this movie, and it has taken a while for it to get released. It has floated on the festival circuit for a while (it even has a 9.5 out of 10 rating on IMDB) and I have heard very good things about Sarah Michelle Gellar in this.

The plot is based on an ancient Chinese proverb that breaks life down into four emotional cornerstones: happiness, pleasure, sorrow and love. A businessman (Forest Whitaker) bets his life on a horse race; a gangster (Brendan Fraser) sees the future; a pop star (Gellar) falls prey to a crime boss (Garcia); a doctor (Bacon) must save the love of his life.

I am a bit bored with interweaving story lines, but it is nice to see Buffy taking on more challenging roles. Go BUFFY!!!

Southland Tales trailer

Ok ok...bad buzz and boo's at Cannes and trouble shooting as well as the problems getting the finances to finish it aside, I am excited.
The worst case scenario is it is divisive. Divisive is good.

Happy Birthday Buffy

No matter what she has done since or will do in the future nothing can tarnish SMG's beloved creation Buffy, you know, the Vampire Slayer.
So for that Sarah a huge Thank You!!! Have a wonderful Birthday today and hope you decide to revisit the Hell Mouth again someday soon.

"And the thing is, I like my evil like I like my men - evil. You know, "straight up, black hat, "Tied to the train tracks, soon my electro-ray will destroy metropolis" bad. Not all mixed up with guilt and the destruction of an indigenous culture."
