Don't forget you need to think like an academy member! Departed and Marty seem like locks. Clint and his letters ditto. Dreamgirls will get in for sure as it is totally academy fodder. So the last two places for best picture. The Queen will surely as it's a biopic and starring our Helen. Last spot...tough. I'm torn between U93 as it was just a stellar movie and topical for americans.....and LMS which is the ensemble. I think LMS will win through though as it seems to be racking up the accolades. I'm going for a Scorsese double win though. It would seem that he is owed.
True, but it could be a case of give Clint the director nom and leave the picture out. You are probably right. Imagine the horror if both Letters of Iwo Jima and Flags of our Fathers make it in Best Picture and Best Director. These films had better be AMAZING.
