National board of Review Predictions

For what it is worth...(pressure made me change it up last minute)

Best Picture - 'The Reader'

Top Ten:

'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'
'The Dark Knight'
'Doubt'
'Frost/Nixon'
'Milk'
'Rachel Getting Married
'Slumdog Millionaire'
'The Visitor'
'The Wrestler'

Best Director - Chris Nolan - 'The Dark Knight' (alt: David Fincher - 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Best Actor
- Mickey Rourke - 'The Wrestler' (alt: Frank Langella - 'Frost/Nixon')

Best Actress - Kristen Scott Thomas - 'I've Loved You So Long' (alt: Kate Winslet - 'The Reader' and 'Revolutionary Road)

Best Supporting Actor - Heath Ledger - 'The Dark Knight' (alt: Josh Brolin - 'Milk')

Best Supporting Actress
- Rosemary DeWitt - 'Rachel Getting Married (alt: Viola Davis - 'Doubt')

I would do the rest, but I am exhausted. I have no idea about these awards really, so this is a total shot in the dark! The NBR are never ones to be predictable.

I'm thinking they're gonna start the Kate bandwagon going til Oscar day.
You know with the whole Meryl/Kate thing I was wondering, will we find ourselves in what might be the first tie since 1968?
Wouldn't that be so cool?

I was so thinking that as a pressed publish. But the NBR have a history with the over 40's actress.

Julie Christie
Helen Mirren
Felicity Huffman
Annette Bening
Diane Keaton

These are all past winners. But I may even have to change my predictions to include Kate. However, no one is really talking about Kate performance wise it seems. It is like she is going to be nominated, but all the actual acting buzz is directed at others.

I also must add that I think Rosemary DeWitt could beat out both Viola and Kate.
