Of all this sacred.

Why?
Screen Daily says that there is a sequel to "Donnie Darko" happening. For those of you who have not seen the film, there are spoilers as to the plot now.

"S. Darko" will pick up seven years after the death of Donnie, with youngest Darko Samantha, now 18, and her best friend Corey being plagued by bizarre visions while on a roadtrip to Los Angeles.

Richard Kelly, director of Donnie Darko, is not involved in any official capacity and directing duties will instead be taken over by Chris Fisher. Daveigh Chase, who played Samantha in Kelly's film, will reprise her role, and be joined by Ed Westwick, Briana Evigan and Justin Chatwin.

This should not be happening.

If there was ever a movie that did not warrant a sequel it is this one.

Simon Crowe of Velvet Octopus said:

"I think there is a new generation of cinema-goers who will be very excited to see this film......."Donnie's not in [the new film] but there are meteorites and rabbits."

Meteorites and Rabbits. Great...because that is just what the original was all about. My faith is now restored.

Oh Jesus. Although it is an interesting idea. I have always wondered how the family coped. Be cool is Mary McDonnell does it.
