My fantasy boyfriend has decided not to return as Oscar host again this year.
Very sad to hear, he was great last year in spite of him deciding to perform in clothing.

Well let us hope they can find a new host who will entertain, make it go by quickly, but who won't f*ck up the presenting of the acting awards like they did in the 2007 ceremony.

While they figure out who to hire, can we just gaze some more on my Hugh?

'Funny People' - trailer

New Judd Apatow comedy which I am sure will do great business. However, I need some sort of believability. No way would anyone leave Eric Bana for Adam Sandler. Even if he did have a rub and tug.
And when does making fun of people's accent = comedy? I just though it equaled school yard bullying. Christ...no wonder he had a rub and tug, living with that bitch.

Weekend warm up!

I am having to work this weekend. Honest to blog. Heading on down to Birmingham for a trade show, but wanted to leave you with something to read, cause God knows the internet is empty.

Even though I am not at all convinced this movie is going to work with the director and screenwriter chosen, I am still excited about any movie that casts Eric Bana as an oft naked time traveler. "The Time Travelers Wife" is due out this year, and her are some sneak peek pics. I really hate Rachel McAdams in the second pic....it should be me!!!!





In disgusting news, it seems Paramount is already going ahead with a "Cloverfield" sequel.
What a cunch of bunts they are.
What made that film work was the fact it appeared to be sequel free. When do you think Hollywood will learn it's lesson?
I hope that JJ Abrams and Matt Reeves have something special in mind and not just a repeat that will make more bucks. But still this film should have always been a one off.
Like so many before it...did they learn nothing from "Blair Witch"?
We can all look forward to the bikini clad "Cloverfield II: The Monster takes Miami" in the near future.

Holy Bana!!! I would watch this man pluck his nose hair he is that stunning.

Romulus, My Father is based on Raimond Gaita’s critically acclaimed memoir. It tells the story of Romulus, his beautiful wife, Christina, and their struggle in the face of great adversity to bring up their son, Raimond. It is the tale of a boy trying to balance a universe described by his deeply moral father, against the experience of heartbreaking absence and neglect from a depressive mother. It is, ultimately, a story of impossible love that celebrates the unbreakable bond between father and son.

Very interested in seeing how this films does, especially with the actors as they look as though they could be impressive.

The Time Travelers Wife gets cast!!

I am currently reading Audrey Niffenegger's best-selling novel The Time Traveler's Wife, after years of putting it off, and I have to say I am engrossed. In reading it I see it very cinematically, but also see it being very difficult to adapt to the screen, what will all the time jumping. New Line has the rights to the film, and after the Peter Jackson law suit, I am not so sure about them anymore. I am also not sure about Bruce Joel Rubin adapting the book either, he has done a lot of fluff and I have my doubts about him being able to make flow, a film that jumps around in time. Then finally we have Robert Schwentke on directing duties. His last big film was “Flight Plan” and that had major problems with it’s narrative, can he really control something with this scope?

However it has been announced that the two principle characters have been cast. It is inspired. Rachel McAdams will star as Clare alongside Eric Bana, who will play Henry De Tamble, a librarian at Chicago's Newberry Library who is afflicted with a gene that causes him to travel through time involuntarily. Henry and Clare first meet as a result of Henry's time travel, and although they realize they are soul mates, their relationship is strained by Henry's disorder.

With McAdams ability to play feisty, sexy and likeable, she could do wonders even if she physically does not match the characters description in the book. As for the casting of Bana, well, I can really say no more ,on this then “Yum!!” and “How perfect!” and again “Yum”!!. I think this will really be his film in the end, and he has the sexuality and the acting chops to pull this off beautifully.
Bonus points because he spends alot of the time in the book naked! YAY! Lets hope the dudity (great new word Nathaniel!!) from "300" carries over to this.

Life is a Cabaret

With the disturbing news that Renee Zell...(I can't even finish typing it) was being considered for the remake of Cabaret, I reached for nearest pillow and screamed myself silent.
For starters EWW! YUCK!!, secondly why remake it in the first place? I mean it stll holds up today, and Liza is still as dazzling as she was back then, so why even think about it?

But then I thought about what Nat over at the Film Experience and I could not agree more.

Toni Collette as Sally Bowels. How could it go wrong?

The the rest of the cast....well John Cameron Mitchell as the Master of Ceremonies (how delicious would he be!). Eric Bana as Brian Roberts (because he is sexy, but can to that naive thing with his eyes) and Clive Owen as Maximilian von Heune (Who would not want to see him and Eric kiss on screen!!!)
