LOL that's so mean but yeah I agree.
Ms. Hepburn's shoes will never be fiiled and I have the slight impression that when all is said and done Carey might just be a one hit wonder.

You really won't, sweetie.

I don't know why Ebert [I think it was] gave her that title. No comment on Audrey, but Carey is lovely. A pox on your comment Jose. I hope you didn't jinx her.

I didn't mean it to be mean, I meant it as a criticism of all the critics and industry folk who proclaim someone something so early. It just adds pressure they can never live up to.

I honestly think that there is no amazing Lead Actress performance this year. Too bad Happy-Go-Lucky or Rachel Getting Married wasn't released this year cause they would have got more than one measily nomination.

And Mulligan is good, very good but she isn't great. Though with that being said she's my #2 of the year (Gabby is my winner), I guess I really do have to catch Tilda in Julia.

Going to catch Tilda in Julia soon.
Gabby wins for me because I never once doubted she was 'Precious' - that is usually how I judge.

If I had to pick from what I have seen it would be:

Penelope Cruz - Broken Embraces
Carey Mulligan - An Education
Maya Rudolph - Away We Go
Gabourey Sidibe - Precious
Meryl Streep - Julie & Julia

Still need to see 'Bright Star', 'The Lovely Bones', 'The Maid', 'Julia' and a few others. I do not think Carey can hold on.

You see, I'd put Penelope Cruz in Supporting for Broken Embraces.

And I have yet to see Away We Go.

My Top 5:
Gabourey Sidibe, Precious*
Carey Mulligan, An Education
Saoirse Ronan, The Lovely Bones
Meryl Streep, Julie & Julia
Audrey Tatou, Coco Avant Chanel

Abbie Cornish is my #6 but I feel like Bright Star needs a rewatch. (Cotillard and Laurent are both supporting for me.

For me Cruz is lead. Cotillard and Laurent are supporting for me.

Need to also see Coco Avant Chanel. Another to add to the list.
