Keira's in a flap

Where have I been?

Keira Knightley is going to portary celebrity Flapper and schizophrenic wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zelda Sayre (pictured), who met her demise when the mental institution she was in caught fire?

Talk about stretching!

According to historians Zelda was a bit of a wild child/attention seeking/man hungry dancer who became a New York celebrity after the marriage. Apparently they were both heavy drinkers, even getting thrown out of hotels.

As their marriage began to fail Zelda did such things as try to have an affair, had an abortion, over dosed on sleeping pills and (my favourite) threw herself down the stair at a party for some attention. I so can't wait to see if Knightley can deliver.

The film is called 'The Beautiful and the Damned' and is scheduled for release in 2010. Directing this offering will be Nick Cassavetes who directed fan favourites 'Unhook the Stars', 'she's So Lovely', and 'The Notebook'. I have seen none of these films so I will either have to rent them or wait and see 2009's 'My sisters Keeper' to see if how well he deals with high drama.

This could very well be the role that lets the world know just how deep Keiras talent lies.

What a surprise...another period drama for Miss Knightley. She really knows how to stretch.

Ok Dame Henry...claws away. She has done 'Bend it Like Beckham', 'Love Actually', 'The Jacket', and 'Domino'. She also has 'Last Night' coming in 2009.

Remember people use to moan about Kate Winslet doing period a lot (before Eternal Sunshine).

Sounds like the modern "The Duchess" to me.
But boy will Keira look gorgeous in flapper outfits!

Ah, I didn't mean to be so bitchy. She may have done those previous non-costume roles, but it just seems that since Pride & Prejudice that's all we've seen from her. It's getting to the point where I'm sick of seeing her in a dress.

A nice pants suit perhaps?
